Yesterday after school we headed to Five Star Sports to pick up her race packet. Jeremy took Friday off so we got to all go together to get their packets for the race.
At home going through all the goodies...she was mostly excited about the coupon to DQ.
Sounds about right.
Luckily Jeremy was able to get a shirt on Friday, we had already gotten one for Eva and we were so happy that they still had some to purchase.
Here are our racers this morning:
I think Jeremy's non-smile is due to being anxious for Eva and the adrenaline starting to pump through his veins.
She was so excited about having the shirt...I'm pretty sure she'll be working it into her wardrobe for the next few weeks.
The next few photos are blurry...my bad.
It was raining...barf. Luckily right before the race started it stopped long enough for some pictures and then it was kind of a light drizzle. I was happy about that! I thanked Heavenly Father right then and there! I didn't want Eva and Jeremy to be soaking wet throughout the whole thing...what a crappy first experience! So I'm glad it lightened up.
Elle and I just hanging out before they sounded off the gun.
Before the gun went off. I was so glad Jeremy had on a neon hat and red coat...he was easy to spot!
Finally, they're off!
You can see Eva behind the girl with the white shirt on and Jeremy's neon hat to her left.
It really sucks these are all blurry :( So much for experimenting with my camera.
Jeremy pointing Elle and I out to Eva.
You can see her big excited smile!
And they were off!
Elle and I walked around and she pet a few dogs...then I told her mommy needed to sit for a while, so we headed to the car to warm up and rock out to some tunes for a few minutes.
Once we headed back over to the finish line Elle was really excited to cheer on the other runners.
Here they come around the corner! I was SO excited! You can see them buy that blue truck.
Coming around their last corner.
On their way to the finish line.
They did it! They crossed the finish line.
Then Elle and I made a beeline towards them as quick as I could waddle over there.
This is the first picture I got of them afterwards...she had already gotten her participation medal and a few coupons from the volunteers at the race.
She was on the brink of tears right afterwards.
The last run she did before this was really hard on her she hadn't eaten like she normally does so she got a stomach cramp and it freaked her out. Plus, last night she was acting like she was getting sick and we weren't even sure if she was going to be up to running this morning but she was fine when she woke up.
When she saw me she was rubbing her eyes and I thought she was going to start crying, I just gave her a big hug and told her how proud I was of her. Then she took a deep breath and asked for some water!
So cute.
She then enjoyed a carb feast on some yummy rolls they provided and we took it easy while they rested a little before we left.
There they are! My two runners. I couldn't be more proud of both of them Jeremy has really been teaching Eva about running properly and explaining it all so well to her. They have these special little things they do on their runs together and it's just so sweet and such a great blessing to see them bond as father and daughter. It took everything I had not to cry because I was so proud...I'd like to blame the pregnancy hormones on that but, I'm pretty sure I would have had to bite my tongue no matter what.
I did tear up a few times but I held it together.
After this we went home, changed into some warmer clothes and headed out for a family treat to Jamba Juice. The girls were both really excited to go there and Eva wore her medal proudly...and she still has it on as I type!

What a great bonding activity. I'm so proud of Eva, too.
that is completely amazing. Wow. Awesome job Eva!!!
It was so cute to see them running around town training. How awesome for both of them!! Good job Eva! Especially since I tried doing this last summer and failed miserably. :) I like telling my boys and making them feel lazy.
Way to go!! That is fun for them to have something like that to share. I did my first 5k last summer and it was not as easy as people were telling me. Congrats!!! Hey where are some more prego pictures =)
