Just another Manic Monday

Warning: there is talk of vomit and going #2 in this post...also my spell check isn't working so good luck reading any of this.

We had an INSANE weekend...it's starting to feel like that cliche at our house, "never a dull moment." Is that a cliche? I don't know but it sounds like a lame thing to say even though it can be true...I think that's a definition of a cliche. Back to topic, We were all hit with the NoraVirus this week/weekend. First I woulk like you to know that I didn't even know what the NoraVirus was until Tuesday when there was a guest pediatrician speaker at Elle's baby class and to be honest I tuned out most of what she said...it was more fun to watch the first time moms squirm in fear. What I did remember...1-3 days..vomitting..diarrhea and making sure to keep hydrated. I didn't even realize that's what it may be till I was telling a friend about it Friday night and she's the one that said it was the NoraVirus.
So on like wednesday morning before I even wake up Elle puked twice in her crib this insane amount...Eva let me know by telling me that Elle was pooping everywhere. Worried that she had somehow gotten into her diaper I jumped out of bed only to discover that her diaper was still fully intact under her pajama's..which were in no way open, yay. I couldn't figure it out..because honestly it did look like some sort of poo/pee combo...then I decided to take the plunge and smell it...definetly vomit. She was very fussy so I changed her and brought her down stairs and gave her the boob right away...and a mere 20 minutes later she projectile vomitted all over the right side of my body...it was warm and smelled of rotten milk, delightful. I tried comforting her and about 45 mintues later I gave her some pedialyte just a few ounces and she kept it down...then she slept gave her some more pedialyte...etc etc.
Then we come to Friday, it was the begining of my all weekend 2 credit class. I had it Friday night all day Sat and all day Sunday. I get home Firday night only to discover that mere minutes before I walked in Eva had thrown up an insane amount of who knows what all over the carpet. She continued throwing up all night and the smell of the carpet(which we scrubbed three times with carpet cleaner and still the smell lingered) was getting to me, I felt like I was going to throw up PLUS I had to get up early the next morning for class so Jeremy took puke duty and I went to bed. As I was sleeping I felt very crampy and it felt like I may explode at any moment, I just ignored it and was trying to breathe through the pain. I did manage to sleep for 2 hours before I woke up and ran to the bathroom with #2 issues. At that very moment I realized that I was going to puke...I reached for my handy hair tie that's always on my wrist and it had slipped off in bed...then I realized, where am I going to puke? I was sitting on the toilet. I tucked my hair behind my ears and reached for Eva's old potty chair that doubles as a stool, flipped it over and every ounce of food in me proceeded into the step stool. I was in a cold sweat. No my friends that was not the end...this happed twice more and once I got up to get ready for class(yes I went anyway and I had to, I didn't know how else I was going to make up those 2 credits) I threw up once more at 8:15am. I left for class at 8:45am. The whole day sucked. I was really uncomfortable and luckily I didn't throw up or anything else(if you know what I mean) while I was there BUT my back was in so much pain I could hardly sit still and I had to for almost 8 hours. The last three hours were the absolute worst I could hardly concentrate on what the teacher was even saying, and I really wanted to too, I thouroughly enjoyed the class. Oh and while I was throwing up all night so was Jeremy, he too got no sleep.
My mom picked Eva up sat. morning for a fun day/sleepover with Grandma and Grandpa so that was really nice for Jeremy PLUS he said Elle was so good it was like she knew he wasn't feeling well. So that night I came home to no one at my house(Jeremy took Elle to a birthday party that I was supposed to take pictures at but Jeremy took my place). I took some IB profen and went to bed. I tried some relaxation techniques that I learned at class and I vaguley remember Jeremy coming home. And then he woke me to remind me that he was going somewhere but that Elle was asleep. Elle went to bed at 5:30pm!! My kids do not go to bed early...at all...ever. It was a Christmas Miracle. I watched a movie and read an article for my class homework, I mustered up enough hunger to try some soup...it stayed down, yay. I woke Elle up at 10:30 to nurse her so she wouldn't be starving at like 3am. I took a super hot shower and went to bed at 11pm and it was the best nights sleep I have gotten in years. I tried a bunch of the relaxation techniques and I was just so warm and relaxed, it was awesome. Sunday I felt like I was 17 again. Seriosuly I felt amazing. Maybe it just felt amazing since I felt like I got trampeled the day before but still I felt amazing. We're all well now and so glad that it's all over.
As for the stench of puke in the carpet we are having our carpets cleaned tomorrow morning, yay! I can not wait, our carpet is original from when they first built this place and it is nasty looking. Hopefully this can bring new life to our little living room. I guess it was a little bit of a blessing to have Eva spew all over the place.

p.s. my mom called me this morning telling us she threw up all night...sorry mom.

Whoa. Christa, I am SO sorry! That is horrible! We had a time similar to that when we moved to SLC, Keegan was only 3 months and he started puking right after he had eaten too. The next few days involved Zach and I puking our guts out as well. I am SO sorry and I know how you feel - glad you guys are feeling better!

I'm so glad that it is over! NExt time for the stench ty putting baking soda on it and let it sit for awhile the vacuum up. It has worked wonders at our house.

Ok, so that just turned my stomach. I think next time I will have to pay a little more attention to warnings. But then again, the warning intrigued me a little. (sick in the head, I know) I'm glad you guys are feeling better.

You give amazing details in your posts! Ok so if you really did have Nora virus...shame on you for going and doing all that stuff. Nora Virus is contagiuos for three days before you even get symptoms and for two days after you feel better. That's why it's so dangerous. They had to keep the OSU kids locked in their dorm when it broke out there so it didn't spread all around campus because of how it spreads. Oh well...at least everyone reading this who saw you knows why they got sick :). I'm glad you are feeling better.
