AAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SO frustrating! We have waited a month to go and see the pediatric neurologist in Eugene and they called this morning and cancelled!!!! And of course they had an appointment available next Tuesday BUT we're not going to be in town so she can't be seen again till JUNE 20TH! I'm so annoyed.

Fantasy Friday: AE

Back when I was swimming in money (read: when I was single), I took it upon myself to spend money about every weekend. And my store of choice was American Eagle. I would drop $40-$80 on the weekends. Mostly shopping clearance, because things went on sale on a regular basis so it was worth it. I bought one of my most favorite pair of sandals there...I miss them so. Anyway, thinking of a simpler time I decided to highlight AE and all there "all-American" goodness. FYI, AE has sizes all the way up to 18, which is SO awesome that they have fashion available to every size, there's nothing I hate more than to find a website that I like and it only goes up to "L" or "32in" barf...we're not all waifs.

Are these not the cutest bermudas ever?! There are a few different styles with this great dark rinse. They aren't that expensive $34.95 (not bad for great quality). These would make the best summer shorts because they'll go with everything. I love classic style. Another great summer purchase are these plaid trouser shorts. They're a little fun/different and can show some of your awesome personality. These would look so cute with a polo or just plain tee. Keep it simple up top if there's a party on the bottom. I totally made that up, it was awesome. $39.95 This would be a great cover-up for your swimsuit! Such great colors and it also comes in a green combo with turquoise, so fun. This would also just be a great summer dress with a Shade shirt underneath. I love the color blocking in this dress, usually I'm not a huge fan of the color block but the cut of this dress is simple and the colors are very complimentary, I love easy. $49.50A great example of easy weekend style are all the great graphic t's that AE has. They're easy to layer and have a great laid back style. I think they are a very college girl style but when I see someone who is over college age wearing one of these, I think that they have a great casual style, like they were very cool in college and can take that style on in their family life. It's just one of the many assumptions I make about people and the clothes that they wear....I'm full of them. $19.50 (and they always go on sale).Love this shirt! It's a great summer shirt and it comes in 3 other colors. This would be great with shorts, jeans, a skirt. It could be dressed up for church and casual for summer lovin'. You can choose the color, the size of the eagle and the color of the eagle. I choose the heather grey and a medium sized yellow eagle, easy, breezy, summer style. $34.50These are the boyfriend jean, love it. Super comfy for summer nights watching the stars or making smores. You thought I was going to say making out, didn't you? I thought about it. $24.95Love these shoes!! They are the all trendy "gladiator" style and these are GREAT! Easy, comfy and so cute, so, so cute. So I didn't realize till yesterday that I didn't do a Fantasy Friday last week...sorry. Totally spaced it. I've been stressed...I'm not sure with what but I've felt stressed.

So hopefully AE day made up for it. I really love AE clothes, I love the easy style, the prices especially sale prices are amazing (I got a charcoal peacoat for $40, orig.$140! and I STILL wear it, grant it it is a bit snug but I can still wear it, that's all that really matters.).

I never knew...

Romanians were so beautiful. I love seeing popular groups from other countries; it's usually SO different from American music. I actually spent time with my brother the other day and I usually loathe his music but he had this O-Zone CD and it was very enjoyable even if it's in another language...and the fact that these boys are gorgeous doesn't hurt at all. Apparently there is some famous You Tube video of some fat kid singing this song...the sad thing is I only found this out from South Park. Yes I watch South Park on occasion. So, many of you may have heard this song before...I'm out of the loop, what can I say. You can still enjoy watching "entertainment" from the other side of the world.

First Taste...

The ruined cake didn't go to complete waste, not only did I snack on it throughout the rest of the day (yum) but I also decided to let Elle have a little taste since it was her birthday since 1:34am.

Baking the Birthday Cake

Eva so lovingly helped be mix Elle's cake and get it ready for baking. I think she had ulterior motives though:

Once the cakes were out of the oven I let them cool for a little while and then I novicely read the box and it said to have it cool outside of the cake tin. So I made sure the sides were loose with a butter knife and proceeded to flip the cake onto the wire rack....this is what happened:

My cake fell apart, I was so sad. I had this perfect little round size and it got destroyed.This was my reaction.

I got over it as quickly as I could. There was no reason to stay upset for the rest of the day...I had too much to do. All though it was hard to recover from.

It all turned out fine in the end but it wasn't what I had originally pictured but, nothing ever turns out how you pictured.

Breakfast Conversation

Happy Birthday to Elle!

My baby turned one yesterday and it was a long day of birthday extravaganzas.

Starting with the Direct TV guy calling at 7:50am to let me know he was on his way over to fix our satellite. That's not inconvenient at all. To be fair I knew he was coming "sometime" between 8am and 12pm, but I didn't really think it would be 8am!

Anyway, I made the traditional birthday waffles. Here are some of the highlights:

SHADE

I'm having a Shade Clothing try on May 23rd from 7-9pm for anyone who wants to come. It's super casual and the lady that actually sells the clothing wont even be there! So no pressure. I really like to just try everything on so when I do have money to get more Shade I know what size I wear. Plus they have som really cute new styles that are on sale!

Roasting at the Browers

It was HOT today, really hot. We played outside from about 1pm to 4:30pm. I can not believe tomorrow is supposed to be even hotter than today. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera batteries charged and Jeremy was borrowing my other camera for a work thing. Today was Elle's first day to wear a swimsuit and get in the sprinklers, her face was priceless. She had zero fear (not very surprising) and loved every minute of it. Eva had a blast with all her friends. Lucky for me we live in a neighborhood full of parents who have bought a hose and sprinklers (the cool kind, not like the old fashion ones used for actually watering your lawn) so I have yet to buy any of those things. There's always someone that has all the kids over on their lawn and when I need to wash my car I just borrow a hose. It's a great neighborhood to be as cheap as I am....I should rephrase that, it's a great neighborhood to be as cheap as my husband is (in the best possible way, we don't need it if everyone else lets us use theirs...you're so frugal honey, I love you).
Maybe I'll get some pics tomorrow because I guarantee we'll be out, but not for the hottest part of the day like today!

Book Recomendation

I don't usually have a lot of time to read, what with all my TV watching at night (Happy Season Finale of The Office btw). My friend Heather was raving about this book she borrowed from my other friend Stacey called, I am a Mother by Jane Clayson Johnson.


It's not a very big book, I actually started it in the morning and finished it that night. But it really spoke to me. I'm also not a big reader of religious books, mostly because I want to read interesting ones and I'm not always sure which one will be good and which one will be boring. Anyway, very excellent. I think within the first chapter or two a small paragraph really spoke to me and how I've been feeling the past few weeks. I was laying in bed crying my eyes out!
Even though we know Heavenly Father loves us and knows us it's nice to read, especially from someone that I will never meet. You know what I mean? Of course we tell each other that we're special and that we're doing the best we can and Heavenly Father loves us but to have someone say the simplest words in a book and to have it testify to your heart is a whole new feeling for me.

I would recommend this book for young women and anyone who is a woman. It's a very good read.

The cutest thing EVER

A few days ago Eva, Elle and I were coming out of the grocery store when we saw four missionary's getting out of their car. Eva got very excited and waved to them and we said hello. As they were walking away Eva turned and pointed at them and said:
"Mom, that looks just like Heaven." All I could thing to say after giggling that she said something so adorable was:
"Yes Eva, it does."

So adorable. The cutest thing EVER!

Elle's First Watermelon

These were taken a couple weeks ago and I finally put them on the computer. She was so cute, she had two HUGE pieces, well it was two and I cut them both in half and she ate about 3 and a half, in retrospect I shouldn't have had her eat so much of it but lucky for me she didn't get a stomach ache.

Mother's Day pics

This is what the inside of my homemade Mother's Day card looked like. It was very sweet. These are my flowers from Eva and Elle. They came in this really great bouguet but it didn't fit with the vase so I got to cut them and arrange them to fit. I'm a little out of practice but it was still really fun.

Mother dear...

I had a great weekend. Saturday was my mom's b-day and she wanted me to spend all day with her and do craft things. Which was kind of a mother's day gift for me as well. Jeremy had Elle all day long, (not one break)I took Eva with me for a little while and then my dad brought her some fun places and then dropped her off back at our house on sat afternoon. Anyway, my dad got my mom a Cricut Expressions for her birthday:

This machine can cut everything, it's amazing. It can even cut through leather! You can buy cartridges that have different layouts and it can cut from 1" up to 23.5"!! Can you believe it?! I played with it all afternoon and into the night, so much fun.

Anyway, we just hung out, watched Grey's ate cake had pizza it was a really fun day with my mom. When I got back home there was a bouquet of gerber daisies (my favorite) in this beautiful vase and the little card was from Eva and Elle (thanks mom). It was really cute, I took pics but their not on the computer yet.

Then Sunday I slept in for a bit but I really needed to nurse Elle! After that Jeremy made breakfast and I went back to sleep till almost 11am! We all got to church and it was a great sacrament meeting. The bishop said some things that really meant a lot to me AND then the primary kids got up and sang some songs and it was my first time having Eva get up and sing! The tears were pouring from my eyes, she was so proud and she knew all the words and she had a giant smile on her face, I was so proud of her. I also participated in this special relief society and had a part as Emma Smith (I know, right, who did the casting on this?) anyway, it was fun and I'm glad I was asked, plus I got to ditch Elle with Jeremy which was totally awesome. And the RS provided muffins, oranges and chocolates (so sweet).

Last night we had a BBQ at my parents house and the food was excellent, of course. Also Jeremy and the girls made me this really cute card with a collage of all their pics, it was really sweet. Now back to the grindstone!

Guilty Pleasure

I have to admit it.
I love it; I watch it whenever it's on.
I've only watched it on TBS because the actual full content of the show is too horrific for words. But I love it, I love Sex and the City. I really, really, really want to go see the movie at the end of the month, but alas there is no one to go see it with.

There is no way my husband would ever go see it with me and I know none of my girlfriends watch it, at least I don't think they do. I'm too embarrassed to admit it. Plus it's rated R for actual reasons that movies are rated R (not like war movies that are rated R for like violence and blown up body parts).

Anyway, there you go, I've confessed my guilty pleasure. Anyone else?

Fantasy Friday: Are you KIDDING ME?!?!

Clothes can be expensive, I think we all know and realize this. Sometimes you want to spend more to get quality, or maybe just a name brand that you really like. Other times it maybe because a piece of clothing may fit very well and it's worth the extra money.

When clothes are expensive I assume that they are not only great quality but stylish. This my friends is a falsehood. It's one thing to be over the top couture and be expensive but is an entirely different thing to be over the top and have just plain ugly ridiculous clothing, which leads me to my main topic, are you kidding me?

Onward:

Why? Why was this ever made? Who thought, "Let's make a gold jumpsuit!" Last time I checked it isn't 1975 and no one in their right mind would be caught dead wearing this, maybe a grandma from Florida OR a 21 year old club hopping. The fact that those are the only two people that may be wearing this should be enough of a warning sign that this should have never been made...ever. If gold's not your color it comes in silver too.
I can see where they were going with this shirt, it really could have been cute 3 yards of fabric ago. Did someone lose their scissors and just say "heck with it, we'll improvise" this is so, so, wrong. First I think it may have only five buttons that button only in the middle, which is just silly and weird. The collar reminds me of those wannabe abercrombie frat boys. The sleeves remind me of Stevie Nicks. And the length reminds me of maternity. How did this get put into mass production? And for $39!! For this ugly shirt, $39!!

I'm sorry, what is really going on here? Is this a shirt for the yacht club cougar, or what? I think, I THINK, I'm not sure, but I think that this is pure crochet, no lining. I know, you just threw up a little. I can only picture a 50 year old cougar wearing this, or Kathy Hilton. Either way if you ever see someone wearing this your eyes may burn out of their sockets.

When did it start to be cool to look like a grandma? Seriously, you're selling this to people my age? If I saw a grandma wearing this I'd be like, Ahh cute grandma. If I saw someone my age wearing this I would say, Ahh, she can't wait to be a grandma.

I laughed out loud when I saw these. There is such thing as taking a trend to an extreme. This is the extreme. No one, I repeat no one looks good in acid/stonewashed wide leg jeans.

Who wears something like this in real life? Seriously. I get that she's a Victoria Secret model, but I don't think she would actually wear this (unless she was paid to, which she is). Who wears this, no really, who? Oh this is a sad, sad, day for fashion.

I think fringe was cool before I was born. Enough said.

Yikes, everything about this is yikes. Oh! the lacey details on the arms and collar and on the bottom, barf. It's just so hideous. The puffy sleeve, what is this Little House on the Prairie? Oh it's just horrid, and what's with the insane cleavage?

I know tears came out of my eyes when I saw this skirt, I don't remember if it was laughing or crying. Why? Why? I could maybe understand if it was 1993 but it's not 1993 it's 2008. I just don't understand how they made this and people bought it. Please, if you own this throw it away, don't even give it to Goodwill, throw it, first cut it in shreds so no one else even has a chance to wear it and then throw it away.

The moral of the story is one day we will probably all have more money than we do now, let's not let it go to our heads. Let's remember what true fashion is all about and that classics are always the first choice over trends. Let's not become the "crazy lady from Florida" or the "cougar at a yacht club" just because we have money to spend. Happy Weekend.
