Elleness

Eating grapes.

Apparently she knows how to give a powerful speech...finger pointing and all.

This is a special outfit grandma and grandpa picked out for Eva. She's been super excited to wear it to school. It took us a couple days to find the matching leggings but I found them this morning. So cute, right? I tried another braid idea today. It's supposed to look like a braid headband, but Eva's hair is so choppy on the sides due to her bangs growing out that it was hard to do exactly what the book said. I think it turned out pretty cute though, and you get the idea. I was supposed to tuck the ends in but I thought it looked cute out.
p.s. I know those camo shoes are hideous but they go with most of her other outfits, like her tomboy girly style, I tried to get her to wear some sandals but she wasn't having it. She's also in some need for some new shoes, so next weekend daddy promised us we can get both the girls some new shoes. Which adds up soooo fast, they both need church shoes, boots, and Elle needs a pair of regular shoes on top of that $$$ cha-ching!

Ribbon Braid

Sooo, the bookmobile was here the other day and I found a book on braiding...now I know how to braid, but there were some cute ideas and I thought it might get Eva excited about me doing more things with her hair. Low and behold it worked! I picked out two styles that I wanted to try for preschool so I asked her which one she wanted to try, she picked this one, The Ribbon Braid: I was actually semi shocked that I had ribbon on hand...I guess that's just how I roll. Super cute right? She was VERY excited to go to school and show all her teachers her ribbon braid.
p.s. this was taken hours after school was out so it was a little more put together, I swear.

1st day of Preschool

Eva has been begging to go to school for weeks and weeks now. Today was finally her first day...YAY! Here she is at the door, she had all her clothes picked out for the week; tomorrow she wants to wear a special outfit grandma got her from Costco. The cutest backpack EVER! So cute, I saw this little Jansport backpack with silver stars and I had to have it...for Eva of course. Such a perfect size, she picked out the print she liked best and Jeremy and I went and got if for her later as a surprise.
Here's Eva's cubby and her backpack hook.
I snapped a quick pic of her during free play when it's time to come and pick up the kids. She looked like she was having fun. I walked to Freddy's while I was waiting (after the parent meeting there was only an hour left and I'm trying to save some gas) and got some milk for $1.69! Jealous? I thought so, every once and a while Freddy's has reduced milk when the due date is coming up...this equals, totally awesome for me.
On the way to the car after school, here's her first official craft she made as school.
School is only an hour and a half till Feb then it goes to 3.5 hours. She was pretty annoyed to see me after an hour and a half, she was like, "That wasn't very long." I told her I totally didn't think it was long enough either but what can we do. I told her eventually in a few months it will be for longer. She was so excited for the past few weeks only to be kinda bummed that it was only for 1.5 hours...she has playdates longer than that. Oh well, she'll get used to it. It seems like a great environment and I think she'll love it.

Sisters stick-ing together.

Yes, these are recent. Eva just got some one piece jammies from her Grandma and they are winter themed. She decided to put stickers all over Elle's face, and then decided it would be fun to put stickers on her face too. This is true sisterhood bonding. I love it.

RANCH-a-coo-ka-muncha

Daddy let's Elle dip her Saltines in ranch...he does not realize the ramifications of his actions.

(side note: if you click on this movie you can see her swollen gum where her tooth is popping up)

Oh yes, she is happy, very, very happy. But take the cracker and ranch away, what happens then?

When daddy had, had a enough he got up and took away the bowl. I attempted to wash up Elle's hands and she went into convulsions of anger. Needless to say she threw a fit for about 20 minutes till we tossed her into the crib. Poor ranch-y baby. She did have a good time while it lasted.

More Zoo

This is Elle signing "bird" is that not the cutest thing you have ever seen! I really love that she signs, and I'm trying to teach her more and more, it is such a help for her and me.

Faking it, I wasn't about to drop .50 cent in that thing.

Yes, that's totally my butt.

Our little "eagle" in her nest.

Zoo pics, a week later.

This was like the funniest sequence of events...we didn't leave till like 11am which is right around her nap time, so she was kind of tired but mostly excited. She was being super silly.

In line to see the new baby elephant. You can go online to vote on his name...actually the poll may be closed, I'm not sure. When we were there he was 15 days old and weighed 322lbs!! He had gained 6lbs in one day!

We got to see a bunch of elephants while we were in line.

Elle had just about had it at this point, she was totally throwing a fit in line and did not want to be in her stroller anymore...this was the last smile for a while.

These are the looks I got because I was trying to quiet her up and give her food...she was not having it. She was really mad at me...if you couldn't tell.

The baby elephant. Blurry I know, you couldn't do any flash photography, so this was as good as it got. Doesn't it look kind of dead and pathetic? I thought it would be all lively and toddler like...guess it was nap time.Hippos, this was my highlight, they somehow reminded me of Jeremy and I. Ahh, true love.
Eva thought this was pretty cool.

This was her "I'm so scared of the lion" face. Pretty good.

This was Eva being a lion in a cave.

Cheese.

She was super scared to stand by these bears at first but once I showed her they were stuffed she was fine...as you can see.

Overall, totally worth going all the way to Portland, and I am VERY glad we went on a $2 Tuesday, it was soooo not worth anymore than that in my opinion, I would have wanted my money back if paid $9.75 a person!
