Two Wheeler in the Hiz-ouse!

There was a "no training wheel" revolution in our neighborhood. One little girl down the street started it and it trickled to all the kids with their training wheels still on. Honestly I didn't think Eva would learn to ride a two-wheeler till she was 7 or 8. Because that's what I did. I was a wimp who never tried anything and I was too scared...Eva is a lot like me when it comes to that but she's also very determined.

I can't even describe how proud I was of her. The smile on her face was ear to ear and she was so proud of herself. It seriously brought tears to my eyes to see her be so proud and to feel that proud of a human being is so overwhelming (I know Tracy is making fun of me right now, but I'm a sensitive person..I cried at the Lion King ok, and at a Johnson & Johnson commercial, I have feelings that I must express through tears...apparently.)

This is Su-wen, she loves Eva, I don't know if it's the allure of the blond hair or Eva's creative imagination but, if she even spots Eva outside she runs out of her house to see if she wants to play. This is Su-wen watching Eva ride her bike waiting for her to stop so they can play. Su-wen in her family are moving and she is not happy about it, she's a sweet little girl, we'll miss her.

SO cute! You go girl!!Oh, and this is a self-portrait of my hair...that's right, I dyed it...what's that? You can't tell, well that's because I dyed it brown...I know you're shocked with my ability to take a risk. But my highlights that I spent over $100 on our now mostly gone and I've decided I'll never get them again, but that's good to know...I now know that I'm not a fan of highlights that aren't what I ask for...surprising, right? Who likes what they didn't ask for? No one I know.

Woo- 4th of July 2009!

I uttered that phrase about 30 times on the 4th...mostly to annoy my fellow neighbors...it was super funny at the time...in my head. Anyway, we went to the pancake breakfast...which was pretty good...Jeremy wanted to leave about 10 minutes after we got there...he was also mad there was no bacon...so we went home and made bacon and we smelled baconlicious the rest of the day.

Then we went to my parents house...which are actually the pictures in the pool below...

Then we went home, took a nap and went to a BBQ about 4 houses down...thanks Kelli and Neal, it was super fun! The kids got soaked and we ate some good food.

Then we went home for another nap and got together with four of our neighbors, we all pitched in and got a ton of fireworks. I do have some pics of that:

This is pretty much what Elle did the entire time...at one point she even bit my shoulder in fear...maybe next year she'll be more into it.

After that we packed the girls up and headed over to my parents house...for another firework presentation...I think the girls had a great 4th and were definitely spoiled with their firework viewing pleasure. Unfortunately for us it was a late night and getting up for church the next day wasn't the easiest...I think we were 20 minutes late...I guess it's only one time a year, right? We get a pardon, don't we?

Soooo

My bff Tracy came to visit for a few days, it was really fun to see her little family and especially Graham, the cutest little boy ever, so cute! Eva had the best time with him (she's been begging for a little brother for...ev...er). Unfortunately my camera batteries were dead and I failed to take any pictures while she was here (which wasn't long enough! but I'm glad she got to come in the first place, I'll take what I can get).
I'm still in the process of re-vamping Elliot's career choices so they can move out here instead of living in stupid Georgia.

Safety Town

Our town has this great program for kids going into Kindergarten called Safety Town. They spend two weeks learning how to be safe with a lot of things, fire, electricity, biking, swimming, gun, crossing the street, poison and much more! The get to ride little "cars" (trikes low to the ground, very fun!) around a "street" they set up and practice stopping at crosswalks and at lights. Eva had a great time and made some new friends, she's our little safety guru now. Here she is shaking hands with on of her teachers getting her certificate. You can kind of see the little town they set up, it's what their sitting on.

The two girls on the ends were her actual teachers, the other three girls in the middle were the "rovers" they helped out everywhere.

Ahhhhh summertime, and the living is easy...

80's Prom

One of my amazing friends, Stacey, had a big birthday last week and my friends and I planned an amazing surprise party for her. We put together a surpirse 80's/90's themed prom party! It went really well, we told her we were going to go out to dinner dressed 80/90's for fun (that's how we got her dressed and ready...also we knew she was our only friend who would actually do that).
