Reason for the Season

The first time I read ALL the lyrics for this song was at our progressive dinner this year. I've always loved this song, when you read these words the Spirit touches your heart. Merry Christmas Friends.

O Holy Night

O holy night! The stars are brightly shining,
It is the night of Our dear Saviour's birth.
Long lay the world In sin and error pining,
'Til He appear'd And the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope The weary world rejoices,

For yonder breaks A new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees!
O, hear the angels' voices!
O night divine, O night when Christ was born;
O night divine, O night, O night Divine.
Led by the light of Faith serenely beaming,
With glowing hearts By His cradle we stand.
So led by light of A star sweetly gleaming,
Here come the wise men From Orient land.
The King of Kings Lay thus in lowly manger;
In all our trials Born to be our friend.
He knows our need, To our weakness is no stranger,
Behold your King! Before Him lowly bend!
Behold your King, Before Him lowly bend!
Truly He taught us To love one another;
His law is love And His gospel is peace.
Chains shall He break For the slave is our brother;
And in His name All oppression shall cease.
Sweet hymns of joy In grateful chorus raise we,
Let all within us Praise His holy name.
Christ is the Lord! O praise His Name forever,
His power and glory Evermore proclaim.
His power and glory Evermore proclaim.

A little piece of my heart just died...

Not that I have $300 lying around (because I don't) but I really...really, REALLY, wanted these boots. I just found out that they're sold out...my chances have gone with the wind. I need a moment of silence...can someone light a candle?

Santa Baby

Elle has no idea who Santa is...I mean she does now but she had no idea before. She still doesn't really get the hype (why would she? she's 2) but she's aware of Santa now and thinks he's a nice man who gives her candy canes and dresses a little out of date. Eva on the other hand is a seasoned veteran and although she did not want to go near Kris Kringle once she saw her little sister was up there she felt the pressure to go to...then without hesitation asked for a Wii within seconds of sitting on his merry 'ol knee. She's just trying to keep it real.

prima donna

I'm in Hell and Nirvana because she's my prima donna.

The Freezing Cold Tree Cutting Extravaganza 2009

It was SO cold. Beyond cold. It felt like we were in an ice box that had wind chill. So cold.
Needless to say we found a tree quickly, the quickest we ever found one (pretty sure).
This is Jeremy and the girls cutting the final piece. I thought Eva's cat eye hat looked pretty creepy in this picture also.

Celebration!! Its cut! Let's go!!

Yes, freezing.

Thank you Donovan's. We've been coming here for years and we love it...the free hot chocolate was even more amazing this year...mostly because we were all frozen.

Merry Christmas to US!

did you see the last post about Ellie? did you notice the carpet? Totally disgusting. Beyond disgusting. It should have been replaced before we moved in FIVE YEARS AGO. But it wasn't and I'm actually becoming a better housewife (shocking, I know) and no matter what I do the carpet looks so dirty, which in turn makes the whole house look dirty. So I asked for new carpet and I got the ok!!! The Carpet man is actually coming today to measure and next week they'll install!!! New carpet for Christmas!!!

style girl.

She's her own girl. Honestly, she's got amazing personal style...it may not always match...or be in the same color family but it all goes...especially with her personality.
p.s. no she did not get glasses, those are my old Nicole Miller's from High School.

I'm a WINNER!!

I won, I won, I won!!!!
Growing up I never (ever) won anything. In 6th grade we all got to draw money pencils and one of them had a hundred dollar bill on it, I of course drew a regular pencil and then my best friend went right after me and I had a feeling she was going to win the big one....she did, she drew the $100 pencil...do you know how much $100 is to a 6th grader? It's pretty much a million dollars. My point being that I never won things, it's not my lot in life. But I think my luck is changing.
A few months ago I won a Toy Box Tee on Giveaway Today. A few weeks ago I won a DownEast Basics dress on Just For Me...and You I got the new Over and Under Dress!!I couldn't believe it!! You know my new thing is dresses and I really like wearing them, for the first time in my life I feel really comfortable in a dress. I got it in the mail on Monday and I can't wait to wear it on Sunday!! This week I won on Design Dazzle a FREE MJM Book!! It's a book you get to personalize for your child.
There's this great story called "What Animal are You?" and it just screamed Eva. So I chose what the character would look like (more or less) and they inserted her name and a little note from us. It's absolutely adorable. I think we'll wait and give it to her for her birthday. That's right, she's almost 6. Which in turn means I'm getting old.

Happy Winning to all the losers out there, I was once one of you, and I'm here to say, you can make your own luck(and by that I mean take an hour a day and enter all the free giveaways online)!!

Thanksgiving: Yes these are the only pictures I took.

I'm a blog addict of clothes, crafts and food.
I think I saw this originally on Be Different...Act Normal, but it was everywhere. Anyway, I ended up being rushed for time on Thanksgiving day (I made cheddar garlic biscuits, you can kind of see them underneath the turkey rolls, artichoke crab dip and a cheese ball) so I showed the blog pic to Jeremy and he created our little Turkey Rolls! Do you see it? The girls loved it.

Elle modeling her pilgrim hat, which Eva made at school the day before. Eva had a harvest party at school and they made cornbread and everyone brought a fruit from home to make a fruit salad, they also learned about totem poles and Native Americans last week.
Elle makes this hat look good!

two words: eight. pack.

That's true excitement in our eyes. believe that.
I found these screen prints online (for FREE) and Michelle ironed them on for us...we got TONS of compliments on them.

This was a good two hours before anything happened. BUT we did get awesome seats AND everyone in our little theater was really cool, we had an "older" crowd, it seemed to be mostly freshman in college and women (and some men) older than us. I'm really glad we chose the 12:08am showing.

Love this Song

I don't listen to the radio. I don't know what's "cool" or "hip" these days. I know that most of the music I hear (when I turn my radio on long enough to put in a CD) is not what I would consider music, it's more like lots of sounds with (usually) some sort of sexual innuendo. I shutter to think this is what my YW grow up with. Anyway. My point, is that I have no idea how "new" or "old" this song is but I heard it tonight and I really like it. My favorite line is, "when the roof caved in and the truth came out" love it, I love a good play on words. And shockingly enough it's a nice song...nothing inappropriate.
