Guilty Pleasure

I have to admit it.
I love it; I watch it whenever it's on.
I've only watched it on TBS because the actual full content of the show is too horrific for words. But I love it, I love Sex and the City. I really, really, really want to go see the movie at the end of the month, but alas there is no one to go see it with.

There is no way my husband would ever go see it with me and I know none of my girlfriends watch it, at least I don't think they do. I'm too embarrassed to admit it. Plus it's rated R for actual reasons that movies are rated R (not like war movies that are rated R for like violence and blown up body parts).

Anyway, there you go, I've confessed my guilty pleasure. Anyone else?

Fantasy Friday: Are you KIDDING ME?!?!

Clothes can be expensive, I think we all know and realize this. Sometimes you want to spend more to get quality, or maybe just a name brand that you really like. Other times it maybe because a piece of clothing may fit very well and it's worth the extra money.

When clothes are expensive I assume that they are not only great quality but stylish. This my friends is a falsehood. It's one thing to be over the top couture and be expensive but is an entirely different thing to be over the top and have just plain ugly ridiculous clothing, which leads me to my main topic, are you kidding me?

Onward:

Why? Why was this ever made? Who thought, "Let's make a gold jumpsuit!" Last time I checked it isn't 1975 and no one in their right mind would be caught dead wearing this, maybe a grandma from Florida OR a 21 year old club hopping. The fact that those are the only two people that may be wearing this should be enough of a warning sign that this should have never been made...ever. If gold's not your color it comes in silver too.
I can see where they were going with this shirt, it really could have been cute 3 yards of fabric ago. Did someone lose their scissors and just say "heck with it, we'll improvise" this is so, so, wrong. First I think it may have only five buttons that button only in the middle, which is just silly and weird. The collar reminds me of those wannabe abercrombie frat boys. The sleeves remind me of Stevie Nicks. And the length reminds me of maternity. How did this get put into mass production? And for $39!! For this ugly shirt, $39!!

I'm sorry, what is really going on here? Is this a shirt for the yacht club cougar, or what? I think, I THINK, I'm not sure, but I think that this is pure crochet, no lining. I know, you just threw up a little. I can only picture a 50 year old cougar wearing this, or Kathy Hilton. Either way if you ever see someone wearing this your eyes may burn out of their sockets.

When did it start to be cool to look like a grandma? Seriously, you're selling this to people my age? If I saw a grandma wearing this I'd be like, Ahh cute grandma. If I saw someone my age wearing this I would say, Ahh, she can't wait to be a grandma.

I laughed out loud when I saw these. There is such thing as taking a trend to an extreme. This is the extreme. No one, I repeat no one looks good in acid/stonewashed wide leg jeans.

Who wears something like this in real life? Seriously. I get that she's a Victoria Secret model, but I don't think she would actually wear this (unless she was paid to, which she is). Who wears this, no really, who? Oh this is a sad, sad, day for fashion.

I think fringe was cool before I was born. Enough said.

Yikes, everything about this is yikes. Oh! the lacey details on the arms and collar and on the bottom, barf. It's just so hideous. The puffy sleeve, what is this Little House on the Prairie? Oh it's just horrid, and what's with the insane cleavage?

I know tears came out of my eyes when I saw this skirt, I don't remember if it was laughing or crying. Why? Why? I could maybe understand if it was 1993 but it's not 1993 it's 2008. I just don't understand how they made this and people bought it. Please, if you own this throw it away, don't even give it to Goodwill, throw it, first cut it in shreds so no one else even has a chance to wear it and then throw it away.

The moral of the story is one day we will probably all have more money than we do now, let's not let it go to our heads. Let's remember what true fashion is all about and that classics are always the first choice over trends. Let's not become the "crazy lady from Florida" or the "cougar at a yacht club" just because we have money to spend. Happy Weekend.

Mommy's Little Helper

As I was finishing dinner to put it in the oven I realized that I had no foil to cover it. Lucky for me I live in a neighborhood full of people whom seem to have everything I forget about. So I asked Eva to go down to one of my friend's house and get some foil. She decided to ride her tricycle (that she grew out of about 2 years ago) and I sent her with a note b/c my friend's phone line was busy. Anyway, she went off with the note riding her squeaky rusted tricycle, on the way back I was watching her and she looked so much like the wicked witch of the west so I quickly grabbed my camera to take some pics. She just looked so cute and proud coming back with the foil in her basket and her little braids flying through the air.

What a sweet helpful daughter I have!

Happy Early Mother's Day to ME!

I just got an amazing deal, not only were these on SUPER clearance for $20.99 (originally $89.95) but there is also no shipping at Steve Madden.com till the 4th! Jeremy said it will count as part of a Mother's Day gift!! Yay for being a hot and sexy mom! I'm hoping to get some summer church clothes too...all of my church clothes are oddly very librarian, since I am the librarian (pencil skirts, sweater vests and button down shirts). NEW BOOTS YAY!!!

My best Investment as a parent.

Most children have something that they always want when they are scared, or tired, something that helps them sleep or just a "best friend" that they always want by their side.

Eva has a had a few, when she was a baby it was this sheep that she always carried around with her teeth. I replaced this sheep three or four times I think because the site of it's rear end actually looked like that of a real life sheep. Then it was the sheep and this Elephant, she would have the sheep in her teeth and drag the elephant by the trunk.

Then one glorious day and Toys R' Us (before they went out of business in Albany) as we were leaving I saw a bin full of stuffed animals, there were some big dogs and this brown one really stood out, I braced myself for the price because as a parent you know that the larger the stuffed animal the more $$$. It was only $15 on clearance! I couldn't believe it, I had to get it. Eva loves this dog. She very creatively named him Doggie, of course this was before she was even two years old, so I guess the fact that she named it at all was a showing of how creative she would be. She loves this dog, it makes her feel better and she loves to cuddle him at any time. Sometimes she always needs him and other times she can ditch him in a heartbeat. I hope she holds onto him for as long as possible. Sometimes she says things and I can't believe that I have a kid, not a baby, toddler or child, a KID. I would like to keep her young as long as humanly possible.Love those eyes.

This is why I don't want to cut those curls, they are so perfect. That is her baby hair!!
This is also why I will be taking stock in chastity belts, they exist right?

No boy will get close to her until she's graduated high school and onto college.

Fantasy Friday: Payless, no really, Payless.

As many of you may or may not know I worked at Payless many moons ago and it was the best job I ever had, mostly because I had the best boss I've ever had, it was the best last job ever. I just said best a lot...I should really start reading a Thesaurus. Anyway, growing up Payless shoes were not very cool, I just remember them being cheap and ugly, but over the years they got better and better and now they have really tapped into fashion. So I browsed over their "online exclusives" area and alas found some very cute shoes that you can only get at the online store which leads me to believe that not many people will have them. Also it's BOGO right now. You're welcome.

Alice + Olivia designed some stuff for them recently and I choose a pair of shoes that I really loved, that are on sale and that I may go and buy.

Onward:

If you like height/need height this is the shoe for you! This has everything this season is throwing at us, wedge, platform, peep toe. I don't remember if it comes in another color or not...I also don't care enough to go look either. This is Larissa and she is only $22.99
This is the first shoe that caught my eye, it's very fun, flirty and summer lovin'. I believe it also comes in blue. This is a cork print, which means, this is why it's not expensive, real cork costs $$ and Payless can give you the look without shelling out the dough, and to be honest no one is going to get close enough to your feet to notice...and if they do, you may need to get a restraining order. This is Juice and she is $24.99.This is Isadora and she did come in other colors but I can't remember right now, I think it was like red, white and gold...but I could have totally just made that up, who knows. I thought these were great looking shoes for $22.99.I really love this pair, they are retro and have a great vibe, I believe they came in navy, black and white, but this red was very muted and classic. It's got a nice wedge heel too. This is Hoops and she is $19.99.I really love this flat because the colors are comfy and classic and it's made out of t-shirt material, how comfy would that be? Seriously it would be a little vaycay for your feet. I may actually go and buy these...tomorrow, I need some new shoes, not because I actually need them but because my body can only function so long without new shoes. This is Bubble and she is $15.99Last but not least is the Alice + Olivia shoe, named Aidan. Now this shoe has some serious height and serious style. The texture alone screams expensive, designers have a way of making things look expensive even when they are not. This shoe also came in neon green that I really like but, I don't know if I'm young enough to pull them off, you better believe I would have bought them in a heartbeat in high school, but my wild side is definitely tapering off. These were originally $40 something but they are on sale for $32.99, not bad for a shoe that actually has the Alice + Olivia name on it.

Now I've noticed that my Fantasy day is a little rough around the edges and I'm a bit blunt but that's because I'm doing this a 1/4 to midnight on Thursday so I'm a bit tired, back off.
