Christmas Tree Hunt 2011

AKA- JJ's first tree hunt, this was more or less his feelings throughout the whole process.
We found it!
Everyone takes a turn cutting it down.

Even the Jayster did his part

Look, I was there too! Just like last year only JJ's on the outside and my boots are much less new looking.
2010

Early Christmas

Before our big move the girls were living in a little bit of chaos...
then we moved and their room was still in a bit of chaos...
So Jeremy and I decided to get them an early Christmas present...a "new" room.
We had them pick out some bedding that they really liked, Jeremy and I built a trundle bed that I found on Pinterest (if you don't know about Pinterest, you should...let me know if you want in, I have a few invites) and I organized all their clothes from the move and got their whole room in order.
The before:
The After:
It's not perfect but we did our best and tried to get them a new and comfortable room in our new place. They've taken to it well, they are doing a great job taking care of their new things and I already have a million more ideas running through my head on how to make their room even more special for them.
Happy early Christmas Eva and Elle!

JJ's 8 months!

*He's signing milk
*turns out I may have the only baby in the world that prefers gerber food over "homemade" baby food...I've tried everything and he always gags after a few bites...but give him some gerber and he's over the moon. (first picture is from some homemade chicken noodle soup...he was done after 3 bites)
*he sits up pretty well but we still like to put pillows behind him just in case
*he's starting to get up on his knees...but his chest is always one the floor when he does it.
*he's talking a lot more...sometimes he sucks his thumb, but only sideways.
*when he rubs his eyes it's the cutest thing I've ever seen
*he's starting to arch his back and throw fits...so turns out boys throw fits just like girls do, it's mostly when you take something away that he really wants...usually the remote or paper that he's trying to eat.
*he loves it when Elle slaps him around...sounds weird, but she's the only one that gets away with it slash, the only one that actually slaps him in the face...she will literally slap his cheeks around and he just laughs and laughs. must be a brother sister thing I don't get.

JJ lights up all of our lives, I can't believe he's 8 months already...I wish he was little still, of course little for JJ was about 10lbs ago and then he was still huge...but I can't believe how quickly it is all going by. I already miss him but I'm trying really hard to live in the moment day by day.

When you move...

...Elle has a chance to go through lots of boxes...boxes in which old baby clothes have been for many years.
But in Elle's eyes it's just new pieces for a wardrobe of her own styling.
This is a 3-6 month onesie complete with a diaper cover...and yes, she's been sporting these looks for about a week.

Hmmm, look familiar:

Thanksgiving 2011

It was a weird Thanksgiving for us...we were right in the middle of our move, the house was a little crazy to say the least.

The Jayster living it up on his first Thanksgiving.
The girlies being cute.
Mommy's picture.
Daddy's picture.

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!

Blog Much?

Hey there friends and family that might actually still read this blog...get ready for a ton of updating:

Where to start? How about that we moved! (did you hear the choir of angels singing? i did.)
It all happened really fast and it's been really crazy, exciting and awesome.
So here's the story:
Jeremy's grandma lives in an old folks home and this woman she knows there has been trying to sell her house...Jeremy's grandma has been asking us if we wanted to buy it for over a month or so...we kept telling her that we weren't ready to buy yet.
Well, the first week in November Jeremy's grandma informed us that the lady would be willing to let us rent the house or do a rent-to-own because she just wanted someone in the house.
So we decided it wouldn't hurt to go look.
Turns out, it was too good to pass up...yes it was straight out of the 80's, yes it was moving across town away from all of our friends and out of our awesome ward, yes it had a backyard, yes it had amazing potential and yes it truly was too good to  be true.
By November 7th I was giving our notice at Camas Commons and we were in our new house on December 1st!
Here is a picture by picture "walk through" of our new home:

When you first walk in to the left is the family room...yes, that is bad wallpaper and cobalt blue walls!
the coat closet across the front door entrance

A view from the other side of the room, looking towards the front door.

Looking into the kitchen

kitchen...yes, it's as huge as it looks...it's amazingly awesome.

JJ's room- it's no longer red/pink
Girls room

Guest bathroom/girls bathroom
with a skylight!
Dining room

in the dining room, the door to the left is into the master bedroom, the door to the right is the laundry room which leads into the two car garage.
In the master bedroom, door to the left is the on suite, the door to the right is the walk-in closet.
I have to admit, I almost moved in solely because of the master bedroom...and the backyard...and the kitchen.

master bathroom
walk-in closet
master bedroom
laundry room, there are three doors to the left that are full of shelves...for all the laundry and for food storage...awesome.

All right, that is the grand tour! Whew! We have a couple before and afters, one being JJ's room and one being the girls' "new" bedroom. I'll get those up soon too.

Octoberfest

This will be the month of October in a nut shell.

1. I turned 29. Yay. Jeremy gave me by far the most awesome birthday card ever. Aaaaand he stayed home from work so I could go shopping all day...it was so much fun!

2. JJ had his 6 month check up. 24.7lbs 28inches, healthy, strong and cute as a button!

3. I started a baby class with JJ though the local community college- it's a class I took with the girls too, just a fun way to have some one on one time with the little man.

4. Eva's Jog-a-Thon! Elle ran 2 laps with Eva and would have done more but I made her stop, she had crocs on for crying out loud! Eva did 8 laps this year...she could have done more but I kept having her take water breaks...rookie mistake, she did 10 laps last year when daddy was coaching her, oops. She wanted to do 12 laps and was a little disappointed that she didn't but she still had a lot of fun and I'm so proud of how athletic she is and strives to be healthy.

4. Pumpkin patch family trip.

5. Carving of said pumpkins

6. Tried out some new crock pot recipes via pinterest, they were all so good and a few will become some new staples.

Onto the pictures!

Baked Potato Soup- it was so easy!

Bacon, Chicken, Ranch Mac

JJ got a new toy!

Our Three Little Piggies

JJ hanging out in the corn box.

I was experimenting with sun flare after I read a little tutorial on it, what do you think?

I tried to get Jeremy to take a picture of me with the same effect.

Eva getting ready for her jog-a-thon.

And they're off!
Eva's new 2nd grade teacher is the one directly behind her and her new
principal is there cheering and running along.
He's actually one of our family friends, a great family that we love to be around
and have known the longest since moving back to Corvallis,
he's known Eva since she was 4 months old! It's fun to have
a familiar face at school with a principal that we really know!

Aren't they the cutest?! They were holding hands for part of their run together!

Done! Phew!

I got the girls these cute headbands with ears!
And then I got Elle a top that coordinated and Eva the leggings that coordinated.
Aren't they so cute?!

It's carving time!
We didn't carve pumpkins last year and I felt sort of guilty
(even though the kids never noticed)
So I wanted to make sure we let them carve to their hearts content this year.
We only had two casualties...both were cuts, both were Elle.

We had JJ try on one of my Halloween wigs!

The best family picture of the night.

Jeremy and I went to an adults only Halloween party the other night.
Anyone know who we are?

And finally JJ in some new jammies courtesy of grandma and grandpa Bonham.

Next up Halloween, wish me good luck!
Farewell October, it was exciting and very fast!
Here's to a lingering November.
