Goodbye Summer

My dad invited us to go with him to his company picnic back in August. I decided it would be fun for Eva and I to go along with them...plus it's really hard to say no to free food...free Mexican food on top of that. It was the first time I would be in a swim suit in about 7 years so of course I had to go buy one. I think I paid $7 at K-Mart you can't really beat that price for one day of wearing a suit.

Anyway, Eva and I had the best time, we were in the water 90% of the time, it was so much fun.

I thought I would just put up some pictures of it because summer is basically over and we had a really great summer this year.
And yes, I did wear my sunglasses the whole time, I know...you envy how cool I am.

Daddy and Eva two peas in a pod.

Jeremy has tricked Eva into thinking that brushing his hair is a "fun" game, like playing hair salon.
Jeremy loves nothing more than having his hair brushed or combed by someone other than himself...and Eva(being a naive little girl) thinks daddy is so much fun because he's "playing" with her.
So Eva gets a brush, and usually a wet rag(for "facials") and goes to work on Jeremy as he falls asleep. But of course Eva has no idea he's falling asleep, she thinks he's really enjoying his day at the "spa".
The other day Eva came upstairs to get a toothbrush to "brush daddy's teeth!" I was kind of surprised he was going to tolerate her doing that, so I went downstairs to double check and this is how I found him...

Completely, out. His hair was brushed and his skin still dewy from Eva's loving face wash. I'm not sure where her dinner tray and the saltines fit in, but he'd been asleep for a while, so I'm pretty sure she just made up the whole brushing teeth thing.
I can't complain though, he loves it and it keeps her occupied for at least an hour.

Toe Update- because I know you're dying to see what it looks like now!!

Yay, I'm healing. I've been told it could take up to a year for my toenail to grow back. Yesss. Until then, I can gross Eva out and threaten to touch her with my toe if she's not being good. It's a valuable disciplinary tool.

So hear it is, in all of it's crusty glory.

What a 3 year old looks like after her 1st day of preschool

So sweet. She just kept going and going. She was so excited once she got home, then she just kept right on playing all day and when we finally sat down for dinner...it hit her, hard.

We were all watching a movie and Jeremy looks over at me and he said, "Is she asleep?" I looked at her and low and

behold she had passed out...sitting up!

So cute!

I said, "Hurry, grab the camera!"

So we both took some shots of our exhausted little preschooler.

I think this was one of the best days of her 3rd year of life.

My Little Girl is at School

Well, today was Eva's first day of preschool.

We had a great morning, breakfast(bagel, cream cheese, mandarins and chocolate milk), brushed teeth washed face, got dressed; she even had time to watch some cartoons.

Daddy got to come too.

As we pulled up I was getting so excited and she was so excited, she could hardly contain herself. I guess the routine is to come in, hang up your coats and then wash your hands before you start playing with anything. She was a little timid with the washing the hands thing, she wanted me to help her(I live for these moments, Eva has been very independent for a long time).

So we did that and she sat right down and an activity that her teacher(Sara) had sat out.

She gave daddy and Ellie a kiss and then me another one(this was my 3rd I believe). Then I just stood by the door and said, "Bye Eva!" and she just waved bye with a huge smile.
Then I broke down in tears. Don't worry she didn't see me.

I cried all the way to the car and then pulled it together.

I was so excited all day but just seeing her with all the other kids and she's just so ready to be in school, she's so independent. It's hard on a mommy having an independent kid, I know she still needs me, and she'll always need me. I guess I'd rather her say, "See ya mom!" then cry about me leaving. I don't want some pansy kid. Anyway, she's my big girl now and I'm so happy for her. I know she'll do well. I love you Eva.

My brothers "graduation"

I have all these picture's of when my brother graduated. I don't really have a story behind it. It was like two weeks after I had given birth, it was our first outing as a family of four. I'm wearing the sling that I just "had to have". That was the first and last time I used it. I went with the cheap brand and really should have paid the extra $30. Oh well.

This is us sitting and waiting. Real fun. My dad, Jeremy, me and Elle, Eva, Ma and that's Kyle's girlfriend, Acacia. I don't know if that's how you spell it or not.

And all of us staring at Elle. She was still super new then. Very entertaining stuff.

This is Kyle and Eva having a moment. She really enjoyed the entire thing. Who thought a 3yr old would sit through(and enjoy) a commencement. I sure in the heck didn't.

This is Kyle and I fake posing for a picture. I really didn't want him to kiss my cheek...so gross. I mean, where have his lips even been? I don't want to know. Trust me he didn't want to kiss me either. But my mom had to get a picture so, here it is. We seriously held it for like 20 seconds b/c her camera wasn't working.

Well that's it. I could put pics of my mom and dad up too, but their pretty standard and boring.

Warning Graphic Contents

So back in July(July 18th) to be exact Jeremy and I were in a discussion about the proper way to tear plastic wrap so you don't get it all stretched out and messed up. I was demonstrating the proper way to go about it when my hand slipped and knocked down one of our dinner plates on the counter....right onto my toe! It landed vertically, right on my right big toe, then rolled off on the other two toes and delicately landed on the floor.
I've never experienced pain like this in my life. Now child birth hurts...this last one hurt so bad that I vowed never to do it again. But the difference my friends is that a child eventually comes out, it doesn't just sit in your birth canal for weeks...the pain in my toe was excruciating.
I usually scream when I get "hurt"(this could be as minor as bumping into a counter top) Jeremy hates it that I "over-react" when I get "hurt".
I put my fist in my mouth as soon as it happened so I didn't scream, I didn't want him to think I was "overreacting". I cried. I cried, and cried, and cried. I limped up the stairs and threw my foot into a cold bath and it didn't even make a difference...I cried uncontrollably. I felt like a little child who can't hold in there emotions. I couldn't stop crying, I cried all night long. It was the first night Elle slept for 6 hours straight and I got 2 hours of sleep. I got those two hours of sleep from accidentally popping one of Jeremy's old Vicadins. Oops. I seriously thought it was an 800miligran of IBprofen. Thats what happens when you're in pain and exhausted.
Every move hurt. And to add insult to injury(I don't really know what that means but that's just what you say when you're really trying to prove a point) Jeremy was leaving for Vegas in like 2 days. So I went to the doctor the night before he left to make sure it wasn't broken. It wasn't. Then the doctor offered to "drain" my toe, which involves drilling(by hand) into my toenail and releasing the blood. He said it may hurt. At this point I couldn't stand anymore pain. I thought, in a few days it will be fine. They gave me some gay shoe to wear to support my toe to make it hurt less.

I went back the next day after Jeremy left and had it drained.
It was sweet release.
I was still super scared to have it drilled, luckily right before they started Elle was hungry so I had to feed her while they were drilling, I didn't even notice it! Then the blood just poured out.
Oh yes, sweet release.
It was still a bubble for a few days then out of nowhere one day my toes felt wet and I looked down and it had popped, I had disgusting rotting blood and ooze everywhere. So gross and also so cool. Every time I pushed down on it more came out...I'm entertained easily and gross things don't usually gross me out. At least bodily things, I could be a doctor except I don't want to go to school that long and I have no reason to. Eventually Jeremy came home from Vegas and the smell of rotting flesh under my toenail was getting to me so he had me soak in for about 1/2 hour in hot water and I peeled my toenail off...the sides of my toe and cuticle and skin under that came off with it. So cool. I totally forget to get a picture of it, sorry.

That's my toe story.
p.s. don't mind the toe hair, we all have it. you can also see where they drained my toe if you look closely at the first picture, you can make out three small holes.
